By Dead Reckoning

From Fort St John, To Fort Nelson, to Fort Simpson, finishing at Norman Wells

The source material for this charter is from the autobiography "By Dead Reckoning" by Ralph Lewis. He calls the DC-3 "A remarkable Flying Machine," and this charter depicts one of the routes he flew, including the weather in which he frequently found himself. His words are such a tribute to the DC-3 and the "unbelievable punishment it could withstand in the air" that Dave has chosen to try to create the same conditions as he described in his book. I recommend that those who want to fly this charter realistically read Peter Tuckers tutorial on navigation from his excellent charter (196-01), if they are unfamiliar with pre-50's navigation techniques.
